NECEP is involved with a variety of emergency preparedness initiatives including surge capacity planning for mass casualty incidents and MMRS Task Force volunteer training.

NECEP has developed the all-hazard Regional Response System (RRS) and Modular Emergency Medical System (MEMS), which outline best practices and strategies for community-based emergency preparation.

Through a Center for Disease Control pan-flu grant, NECEP has developed and evaluated methods for coordinating healthcare delivery during a pandemic.

As part of the Hospital Preparedness Program, The Vermont Department of Health hosts the Vermont Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Conference supported by NECEP.
