Regional Response System

The RRS is comprised of existing and contingency response elements that are needed to cope with all aspects of a catastrophic emergency. The Modular Emergency Medical System (MEMS) is a key component of the RRS. As the elements of the RRS are planned and implemented by communities throughout a state, a robust and flexible contingency response capability will form.

The RRS Planning Guide provides an explanation of the overall RRS concept and includes two-page fact sheets for each of the RRS components. The fact sheets provide the information needed to plan, exercise and operate the RRS components before and during a disaster. A series of action check lists provide steps that your community can be taken implement RRS.
